MIDDLE EAST ARCHIVE PUBLISHING GRANT

We’re thrilled to announce an opportunity for photographers and visual artists to bring their creative vision to life through a fully funded publishing project with the Middle East Archive. The winning submission will receive €10,000 in funding, covering all essential production costs to transform your work into a published book.

Who can apply?

We’re seeking original photography projects that shine a light on all  types  of stories and landscapes relating to the Middle East and North Africa region . Your project can take any direction or explore any theme—it could be a documentary project, a conceptual exploration, or a personal visual narrative. The only requirement is that your work is connected to the region, either through the subjects, locations, or themes explored. 

Prize Details

The winning project will receive:

award of €10,000 to cover the costs of publishing your book. Including production costs, printing, design, distribution support, press and an exhibition.

Full support from Middle East Archive’s publishing team to guide you from concept to completion.

Submission Guidelines

  • Eligibility: Open to photographers and artists worldwide, as long as the project connects with the regions. You do not have to be a photographer from the region, though we highly welcome photographers from the region and its diaspora due to the historic lack of SWANA photographers in the industry.
  • Deadline: Submissions close on 30 December 2024
  • Submission Requirements: A project description (800 words max), 20-25 sample images, and a brief artist biography.
